Music.
On the following pages
you'll find some of the music I have been working on. I generally take a
MIDI file and edit it to suit my needs using Cubase VST. I play the file
through a Roland XP-10 Digital Synthesizer and an Alesis SR-16 Drum
Machine. After the midi file is in a suitable condition, I digitally
record it as an audio file, again, in Cubase. I then lay down guitar and
vocal tracks as necessary, again these are audio files recorded and
multi-tracked in Cubase. The guitars used are either my Ibanez RG570 or
my hybrid Jackson/Tokai (A Jackson soloist body with a Tokai neck -
Very, Very nice!) or my brand new Ibanez RG470. For Gigging I play these
through a Roland GS 6 effects rack, a Marshall 9000 series pre-amp and a
Marshall 9000 series power amp. These drive a 2x12 cab with 2 off
12" Celestion speakers. For recording, I use the same Marshall
pre-amp but it only drives a little 15 watt Peavey practice amp. To me
however Peavey are the best amps on earth so I still get a good sound
even out of so small an amp.
Going back to Cubase,
once I have finished recording, I simply mix down the audio files and
save as an MP3. I hope you'll find this useful and enjoy the stuff I do.
If you need any help with your recordings or if you want to make any
suggestions about the way I do things then let me know.
